The OZZIEs are awarded for excellence in magazine design, and Electronic Design Europe has been nominated in the "Best Redesign - B2B" category. The magazine was redesigned from a print publication to a digital-only format at the beginning of this year. Stefan started his career as an audio engineer and subsequently worked on Elektronik Report before joining Elektronik Journal. The new managing editor is Robert Unseld who joined the publication in 2001, since when he has also been responsible for Automation Journal, the industrial automation section of the magazine. In Vienna, Stephan Strzyzowski will be responsible the Austrian edition. The awards recognize progressive semiconductor companies that have enabled mainland China’s design engineers to develop more sophisticated electronic products. The mainland China ACE awards are sponsored by Electronic Engineering Times-China (EE Times-China) magazine and website, published by a joint venture between Global Sources and CMP. They complement CMP’s EE Times ACE awards in the US, which is now in its third year. The analysis was carried out by Sifo Research International that also reports an 11% decrease for the nearest competitor, says publisher and editor-in-chief of Elektronik i Norden, Gunnar Lillieskoeld. He now plans to publish 20 issues over the next year (19 plus a catalogue for the Electronix fair this year).
